Modern Warfare 3 may have quick scoping

Quick scoping can be a rather divisive topic for the Call of Duty community. Whether you love it or hate it, though, it might still show up in Modern Warfare 3 after Treyarch decided to severely limit its uses in Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Infinity Ward's community manager Robert Bowling revealed during a recent Ask Me Anything round at Reddit that the current build of Modern Warfare 3 allows for quick scoping, but this may still change before the game's final build goes into production.

"Currently, you can still quick scope in Modern Warfare 3," he said. "Keep in mind though, multiplayer is always changing at this stage (new perks, new balancing, new everything all the time based on feedback), however our philosophy on that hasn't changed since MW2."

The unchanged philosophy might extend to Infinity Ward's decision not to support dedicated servers in Modern Warfare 2 as well. The studio, however, has given PC gamers a slight glimmer of hope on that issue. We'll see if it happens as the game creeps closer to its November release.

Hmmmm....
Quick scoping was actually a programming fault. They have a check to see if you're scoping in or not, and if you are, then the precision of your aim is far greater. Because pushing the button to scope changes that boolean value, you could make your gun more precise without fully looking into your scope. The proper thing to do is to change the boolean value whenever the camera viewpoint changes. If they are refusing to do this to make the game better, they are just being lazy.

As long as it's not done the Treyarch way. As they seem to have used a timer for that and a long one to boot.

Assholes! What the Hell! They are going to charge you extra to play MW3 on PC/PS3/360 and give you no other options by removing online from the other games?!?!!? Screw you, Infinity Ward. I'm not into Modern Warfare, but I'll definitely never buy a game from you again. You're a disgrace to the gaming community.

Indeed, but it seems they re-enabled it in BO because last time I played I saw a couple of people quickscoping in every game. And it was working pretty good from what I saw on the killcams.

The fools at Infinity Ward did absolutely nothing to address noob-tubes so I don't expect them to do anything about quick scoping.

Oh yes they did address the issue... they created unlock challenges for it. So they basically encouraged it.

If they don't fix quick scoping and noob- toobers they won't be seeing a dime from me. If you hop on a mw2 game today, that is all there is... noob tubes and quick scopes. Black ops is superior simply because they balanced that. Sure I get quick scoped every now and then as well as get hit with a noob tube but it isn't as rampant and certainly isn't game killing as it is with mw2.

Anyone who says quickscoping takes no skill and that it is cheap just can't do it. You cannot lie to ME! It is hard. It took me 5 months and a .8 K/D to master it. It's still not that reliable. i still prefer akimbo raffica's for close range ;)

All it takes to quickscope is a dot on your tv. So yes be mad that all that "training" you had is worth the same as a dot.

how sad, this game should be rated now t for teen for so many kids playing and always looking for the glitch or bugs of the game for the easy kill, why dont just patch that and other lot of things to balance the game and make it more enjoyable. Anyway I will jump to battlefield.

if you cant use a pistol use a smg if you cant spray and pray use a assault rifle if you cant shoot well enough with that use an lmg if you cant shoot that snipe if you cant do anything quick scope. No skill little fags quick scope just give up on the CoD franchise and go to Battlefield it'll be way better.

Without them... I don't think this post will appear on the site if I state how I will feel about not getting dedicated servers.

But I can say this. NO ONE I know will be buying the game if it doesn't have them.

LOL, no little kids like fictional things guys im sorry. I like realism and QS is something a sniper can do in RL. Yeah it gets annoying but go play mw2 for an hour and you'll realise that it isn't as horrible as you think, yeah you can get jewed but it's the same when someone one shots you with a famas or a UMP spray, just suck it up and don't play solo, or just leave the lobby!

Me personally, i learned to do it strickly to show off against another sniper or just get a winning kill. So I'm not one to QS every game and I like to think i'm neutral on it, SO YEAH IT CAN BE ANNOYING BUT U MUST SUCK IF U CANT KILL A QUICKSCOPER ATLEAST ONCE IN A GAME! serious.

It is so annoying, in the real world you can't quickscope, not saying that CoD is realistic, to headshots with most guns to kill you, regenerating health, ect. But even though quickscoping takes skill, your cheating the game. I'm not a fan of noob tubers either, I was one on CoD4. But atleast in the real world it is possible to shoot a grenade launcher, though with that kind of accuracy with out iron sights like on the China Lake. Personally I think they should make a game mode for campers, quickscopers, and noob tubers so they don't get in the way of us non-retarded people that want to play the game straight up

Anyone who says it's difficult is a f***ing n00b. I'd never quickscoped in my life before today. I finally got fed up and decided to try it. I'm getting 3 headshots a minute now. It's ridiculously easy. I feel dirty doing it, but I'm glad I tried so that I can feel vindicated in telling quickscopers to go suck a hairy one.
