God of War: Ascension to Have Optional Co-Op Mode. Will You Play With Buddies, or Play Alone? |

Aside from the game's many other multiplayer modes, Trial of the Gods will be a wave-based co-op game designed to take on with a friend. Basically what happens is, you'll be placed on a designated multiplayer map and you will have to work as a team to take down swarms of enemies. To add a bit of complexity to the matter, all of your kills must be made in an allotted amount of time, and each kill made will give you just a few more seconds to continue your rampage. For each wave of foes you demolish, you'll be rewarded with experience points that will of course carry on over into both Favour of the Gods and Capture the Flag Modes.

Maybe the most interesting part is that you won't necessarily have to play Trial of the Gods as a co-op if you don't want to. That means if you're up for the challenge you can do all of this by yourself assumingly for double the reward. As of this moment, Trial is only supported on the Desert of Lost Souls, Forum of Hercules, and Rotunda of Olympus maps, but you can bet Sony plans on adding some more later on. If you want to know more, critic reviews should be pouring in soon, and the final release date is March 12th in the US and 15th in Europe!
