Final Fantasy VI will not be the only classic Final Fantasy game PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable gamers can look forward to. According to the Entertainment Software Rating Board's website, PS3 and PSP owners will also be able to play its direct predecessor in the future.

As spotted by gaming news blog Siliconera, the ESRB website has recently re-rated Final Fantasy V for both the PSP and PS3. Square Enix had already confirmed the game as a PSOne Classic release in Europe and in Japan's Game Archives, but this is the first glimmer of news we've had about a North American release.

Final Fantasy V 's PSOne release didn't add any new content other than FMVs for the game's opening and ending as well as a memo save feature. That means there won't be any new dungeons or jobs in the PSN release. Other classic Squaresoft games set for release on the newly revived PSN are Chrono Trigger and the aforementioned Final Fantasy VI.

Create a 3D remake for the 3DS and I will buy it. Otherwise I see no reason to replace the PS1 copy for this.

Great. Been putting off the SNES translated version and the PS1 for at least 10 years, will just wait for this, and enjoy it in widescreen! :D
