You probably know that EA Sports’ FIFA franchise is ridiculously popular, but did you know that it’s actually the biggest game launch of 2012 so far?  Well, if you didn't know, now you do.  That’s right, FIFA Soccer 13 is currently the king of 2012.

According to EA’s numbers, FIFA Soccer 13 sold 4.5 million copies during its first five days on the market.  That statistic is good enough to give FIFA Soccer 13 the title of the biggest launch of 2012, as well as the biggest launch for any sports video game in history.  Here are some more interesting FIFA 13 stats:

• FIFA 13 was top game in 40 countries, reaching a peak of 800,000 online players at one time.  That’s a single-day record for any title in EA history.
• Over 66 million games have been played online
• FIFA 13 is the second franchise game to ever sell over 1 million copies in 24 hours in the UK. (It sold 1.23 million).
