FFX On Vita and PS3 Wont Be A Remake

Shinji Hashimoto has some news for you, and before y’all get all riled up over things, try to imagine the fan backlash if it was indeed a remake and things were changed.

At the Taipei Game Show, Hashimoto of Square Enix stated that the game is not a remake, but a remaster. The difference? A remake is, of course, a remake. A remaster is touching up the game’s resources, including textures, music and in some cases (like the Silent Hill HD Collection) the voice acting. Final Fantasy X on the Vita and PS3 will be the latter.

 

I’ll most likely have picked up a Vita one way or another by the time the title hits, and to be honest, I’m delighted; I’m ashamed to admit that I didn't actually beat the game (Seymore kicked my ass around the place with Anima until I shed a man tear or two) so playing this won’t leave me in the crowd of gamers being shouted at by old fans screaming ‘You didn’t experience TRUE experience’ etc.

 

Unless they change the voice acting, that is. I wonder if ‘that laugh’ would be changed.

Oh, the laugh, it still haunts me...

I'm glad they won't be changing this game.

I wonder if they will change voice actors though...Tidus' wasn't exactly bad just awkward at times, lol.

I never finished the game either, I was set up just before the final boss and never got around to doing it. Can't remember why, game was pretty fun.

I for one hope that they leave the voice acting alone, there were only a few minor translation errors in there that didn't really make sense.

Overall, I liked the voice acting and the game wouldn't be the same if the voices were different.

Not too much time have passed to make game remakes even for FF7. Even more FF7 remake could be trump ace for Square Enix - if there's a bad economic situation for SE they can always make FF7 remake.

I think it's dumb, Re-master FFX the game i hated the most yet don't re-master the BEST and most loved FF7 :o

-Don't need to change anything in FF7 just the looks and i'll be more then happy to buy it on my PSvita :roll:

If they let the original dub ( as I played on the Ps2 )..no problem.
But yeah, this game has a crappy design, interface and color scheme...
Don't let me start with costumes..

remake Final Fantasy IV V or VI/III, those were the best (characters,env ironment, job classes, and story.)X was pretty good liked it as much as 7.

*Sigh* That was the last Final Fantasy i really enjoyed and now they gonna insist on mixing in a lot of the crap from the newer games, because i dunno it looks like they being trying to widen the series' appeal but just ruined the whole thing.

FFX HD Remaster is a better idea than remaking FFVII. Too much time would go into remaking the game from scratch, just to make it look like advent children. and giving the HD remake to VII is just plain... silly. People need to stop dreaming.
