Shinji Hashimoto has some news for you, and before y’all get all riled up over things, try to imagine the fan backlash if it was indeed a remake and things were changed.

At the Taipei Game Show, Hashimoto of Square Enix stated that the game is not a remake, but a remaster. The difference? A remake is, of course, a remake. A remaster is touching up the game’s resources, including textures, music and in some cases (like the Silent Hill HD Collection) the voice acting. Final Fantasy X on the Vita and PS3 will be the latter.

I’ll most likely have picked up a Vita one way or another by the time the title hits, and to be honest, I’m delighted; I’m ashamed to admit that I didn't actually beat the game (Seymore kicked my ass around the place with Anima until I shed a man tear or two) so playing this won’t leave me in the crowd of gamers being shouted at by old fans screaming ‘You didn’t experience TRUE experience’ etc.

Unless they change the voice acting, that is. I wonder if ‘that laugh’ would be changed.
