El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron now coming in August?

It looks like El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron may have been delayed. That's according to online retailers Amazon and GameStop anyway. UTV Ignition has yet to say anything to the public about changing the game's July 26 release date, but the two aforementioned retailers have already gone and changed the game's projected launch.

El Shaddai's Amazon listing now shows an August 16 release date. The same goes for the game's page on GameStop's website. Since UTV Ignition has yet to announce anything official, let's treat this as rumor for now. It's worth noting, however, that the game has already been delayed from 2010 into the July 2011 release window.

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is an alternate telling of biblical mythology as narrated in the 'heretical' Book of Enoch, part of the Dead Sea Scrolls. The game follows Enoch, a brave and just human caught up in a pivotal battle raging between Heaven and the Fallen Angels. He might not have any supernatural powers, but Enoch is a skilled fighter. Plus he has Lucifel, the enigmatic red-eyed angel, who is always in Enoch's ear with a word of advice and a line in dry wit.
