Clarification on Black Ops II Multiplayer Matchmaking |

The release of Call of Duty: Black Ops II is oh so close, and there are some new details on how its multiplayer matchmaking will function.
Twitter was the backdrop for the confirmation of how multiplayer matchmaking in Black Ops II is set to work. David Vonderhaar, game design director for Treyarch, confirmed via tweets that Black Ops II’s multiplayer matchmaking system will use latency and ping, rather than region-based matchmaking featured in the series’ previous games.
This move could decrease the amount of host migration and drop outs, which should appease Black Ops II players who complained of such troubles in other Call of Duty titles. Earlier this month, Treyarch noted that Black Ops II players would gain access to the Call of Duty Elite service for free, so this latest matchmaking news is just icing on the cake.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II will be released on November 13th for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC, as well as on the Wii U when the console launches.
