Chrono Cross, Squaresoft's follow-up to the classic SNES RPG Chrono Trigger, is already nearing a release on the Japanese Game Archives. While that game in particular doesn't have a clear Western release yet, its predecessor may be coming to the U.S. PlayStation Network's PSOne Classics service sooner than we think.
The Entertainment Software Regulatory Board already has a listing for Chrono Trigger for both the PlayStation 3 home video game console and its smaller brethren, the PlayStation Portable handheld. Sqaure Enix has yet to announce a release date, but since the game has already been rated it probably won't be too long until we hear something official.
Chrono Trigger originally debuted as a Super Nintendo title in 1995 and was then ported to the original PlayStation in 1999. Much more recently, the game appeared on the Nintendo DS handheld in 2008. The DS release included additional content not found in previous releases. Chrono Trigger is also getting a port for the Nintendo Wii console's Virtual Console service.
