Bloody Roar rises from the grave *UPDATED* |
Listed in: Games Tags: bloody roar 5, eighting, Hudson Soft

[Update] This seems to be a complete hoax. That makes me very sad, indeed. Seems quite elaborate, though, as the Twitter account has been around March (and that's just the month I reached before Twitter conked out on me). For posterity's sake, the original article is below.
Remember the old Bloody Roar fighting games? The ones with the characters who can transform into beasts? Well, even if you don't, you'll get your chance to become acquainted with the series thanks to a new entry currently being developed by Hudson Soft and Eighting.
The announcement for Bloody Roar 5 was officially made known by the studio over their official Twitter account. So far, the Hudson Twitter account has confirmed that Bloody Roar 5 will be based mostly on the mechanics in Bloody Roar 3, including the Hyper Beast mode. None of the new mechanics introduced in Bloody Roar 4 will be brought back.
Although the project is, according to Hudson, less than a week old as of this writing, PS3 and Xbox 360 have been confirmed as target platforms. The game won't be getting a Wii U version, though, due to "too many issues". Hudson didn't elaborate on what these issues were, exactly.
Most of the original cast will be returning. Confirmed characters include Hans the Fox, Mitsuko the Boar, Greg the Gorilla, Uranus the Chimera, and Bakuryu the Mole. Cronos, Uranus' predecessor, won't be appearing while the Bakuryu in Bloody Roar 5 will be the second one, Kenji. New characters will of course be introduced as well.
So, who do you want to see in Bloody Roar 5? I've got my eye set on Shina, myself. Busuzima too, because he's just way too freaky to leave out.

"Now things are a lot less clearer and the announcement could have been fake, according to this tweet by Jenny_TheBat Apparently the Twitter account @HudsonSoftLtd is not an official feed of Hudson Soft, developers of the Bloody Roar series. Other evidence to suggest that this announcement could be a hoax is the Bloody Roar website itself. There is no mention of Bloody Roar 5 anywhere on that site. In fact, the news of the Bloody Roar site hasn’t been updated since 2003, which celebrated the release of Bloody Roar 4."
