Bad news for those who were looking forward to a new NHL title from 2K Sports. Take-Two Interactive's latest post-earnings conference call revealed that hockey fans won't be getting some love from the publisher.
"2K Sports once again does not plan to release a NHL title for consoles this year," said Karl Slatoff, Take-Two's chief operating officer. 2K Sports released NHL 2K11 last year exclusively on Wii, but this year even the Nintendo console won't be seeing a new NHL game. Take-Two had previously said that it was in the process of evaluating its entire sports portfolio.
Another 2K game that won't be released this year is Spec Ops: The Line. 2K Games' latest release schedule shows that the third person tactical shooter from Yager Development has been pushed back from its original 2011 fiscal year release to the first half of fiscal year 2013. That puts the game's launch at April 1st, 2013 at the earliest.
