The team behind the Universal Media Server (UMS) application has pushed out a new update. For those who haven't heard of UMS before, it's an application that allows you to stream media content from your computers straight to your console or other compatible devices, also known as renderers. Last week, UMS v2.51 was released for the three flavors of operating systems, adding support for two new renderers, and improving the app, where possible. Here's the changelog:
- General:
- Improved subtitle support on non-PS3 renderers
- Made library/file loading faster
- Fixed 24-bit flac support with tsMuxeR
- Stopped using 2 database locations for media caching on Windows
- Allow library scanning to be stopped
- Library scanning interface improvements
- Renderers:
- Added support for Sony Home Theatre systems
- Added support for Onkyo TX-NR717
- Improved Samsung AllShare compatibility
You can download the latest version of Universal Media Server below. Remember that if you are updating from a version earlier than v1.5.0, it is recommended that you delete the 'UMS.conf' file before proceeding.

I know Tversity went to a Payment model but you can find the older ver. out there and they still work rather well.
