Less than an hour ago I wrote about Hong Kong’s threeA toys making an amazing looking Halo Reach action figure, and the first image that ‘videogame action figure’ conjures up in my head is a Metal Gear Solid action figure. (My first videogame related action figure was of Grey Fox back in ’99, after all)

Well now we have another company from Hong Kong, Hot Toys, who have now revealed two new Metal Gear Solid action figures, of both Big Boss and The Boss, both looking detailed and well produced. Each featuring a neat little Metal Gear Solid 3 branded stand, various attire, weapons and, in the case of Naked Snake¸ a cardboard box, the figures have great detail on the face.

What amazes me is the quality of the materials. It looks to me like the 1/6^th scale models actually feature cloth and the like for the clothes, cardboard for the box, and…actual tape on the rims of the box?!

I’ll have to see more of these, but until then I’m gonna figure out how they get around people pulling The Boss’ top apart a little too wide if it is indeed fabric based.
