Hey guys, how're your holidays going? I'm sure there are lots of you packing on the holiday poundage. For a few members of the gaming media, they got a little treat from Square Enix to sink their teeth in - cookies! Not just any cookes, these are special Final Fantasy XIII cookies.

We just literally heard Jesse Divinich predict the decline of video game releases on retail. Now, he's got a few mroe predictions up his sleeve, this time targeting Grand Theft Auto. If his crystal ball turns out right, we just might see another GTA title come June, at next year's E3.

 

 

 

If you are interested to know, 2009 saw 1,099 video games released officially to US retailers. That's seven games short of the 1,092 video games released back in 2008. While that number isn't all too staggering, Jesse Divinich of EEDAR reckons this is but a taste of things to come.

A very special holiday treat comes our way, thanks to Kazunori Yamauchi of Polyphony Digital. A new trailer for Gran Turismo 5 was shown at the Asia Game Show 2009, featuring two new city tracks: Madrid and Rome.

 

 

 

Rock Band is getting a little help from Sir Paul McCartney to usher in the New Year. A three-song track pack of live McCartney tracks has been announced for the game along with a second helping of country songs.

Media Create has released the Japanese hardware sales numbers for the week covering December 14 to 20. The PS3's still on top of the heap, followed by Nintendo's monstrous Wii and DS combo.

Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition's assistant producer Mie Suzuki recently shared a few more details on the game's second scenario, Desperate Escape, as well as what players have waiting for them in the expanded Mercenaries mode. Find out after the jump.

This weekend, Naughty Dog is sharing the Christmas cheer in doubles. That's right, they're holding a Double Cash weekend, which means you'll not only be earning double for your kills and medals, you'll also be getting double the cash for your medals!

 

 

Not everyone's feeling the holiday cheer. Section 8 developer, TimeGate, has filed suite against SouthPeak for allegedly withholding royalty payments and entering into a PS3 licensing deal with another company when it shouldn't have.
