Well PS Vita owners, it's the moment you have all been waiting for! Following the release of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite's name as the game exploit in question, Neur0n has finally publicly released VHBL on the systems 1.80 version firmware. We all know that the handheld's current game library is less than stellar at  the moment, so thanks to this port gamers will be able to run quite a few PSP homebrew applications by using the hack found buried within this Capcom title for the original PSP.

The release of this little bug has been a long time coming according to the loader's main developer. In fact, in the release notes he says the very same exploit you will be using now was found about two years ago! Basically what this loader functions to do for you is cause a crash within the game on your PS Vita so that some unsigned code can be run within your system. Obviously at this point it doesn't mean you're going to be loading any .ISOs, but at least you'll be able to get at least a little bit of a homebrew fix while using your new machine. Dare I say that such favorites as Snes9xTYL were recently confirmed as working on this loader.

If you would like to thank all of the VHBL devs for their hard work by donating, frankly it seems like they don't want your money. Instead, they suggest giving those extra bucks to a charity of your choice instead. While they seem to endorse the American Red Cross in particular, the talented coders hope you can use their project as a means of giving  back to your community. How is homebrew and philanthropy ever a bad thing? Thanks so much to Nuer0n and his team for their work. Grab that Monster Hunter while you can people!
