Sony planning more streamlined updates for PS Vita |

Sony has learned a lot of lessons from the PSP, and this time they're actively trying to use what they've learned to their advantage. Everything from the PS Vita's hardware to the launch lineup indicate that Sony has indeed listened to the feedback on the new handheld's predecessor, and apparently that extends to the many small and at times frankly annoying system updates.
"I agree," Sony Worldwde Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida told Game Informer, "it’s very annoying when you only have one hour in your busy life to play a game, and when you have to spend 30 minutes out of that one hour to update the hardware."
That doesn't necessarily mean the the PS Vita will be getting fewer system updates compared to the PSP and the PS3, however. Sony's plans to streamline the update process will mainly focus on making the updates not as intrusive on the new handheld.
"It’s not necessarily the frequency of how we update," said Yoshida, "it's like you said – intrusiveness - of the current processes that we have on PS3 and PSP. I cannot talk about specific plans, but we are very aware of the issues, and we’d like to address those issues on PS Vita going forward."
Perhaps Sony will use a system where the updates can run in the background while users continue to play games. We'll see when the first update is released following the handheld's December launch in Japan.
