The Uncharted series is one of Sony's hallmark exclusives with good reason. With its items to discover, items to collect, and plenty of enemies to face, there are few reasons not to find something interesting with each released expedition. While the PS Vita itself may be struggling Golden Abyss in particular is a pretty solid showcase of the system's digital abilities, but coming December it will be met with Flight of Fortune, which includes some gameplay changes that some of you may not be prepared for.

In case you haven't heard, Fight for Fortune does not exactly involve quite as much  real time collecting and shooting like all of the other previous titles in the franchise. Instead, combat in this budget title revolves entirely around cards. Yes you did read that right. In a blog post today, the basic mechanics of how the game would work were detailed. At the start of the game, you will create a deck of Faction cards featuring characters from the Uncharted universe. Each of these character cards can be equipped with Resource and Fortune Cards to increase their abilities. When it comes to battle, it is your job to reduce the health of each Faction Card and your opponent through attacks. Essentially it's quite like Uncharted: Pokemon.

However, you might also want to know that artifacts collected within Golden Abyss can also impact  your experience in Fight for Fortune as well. The more collecting you do in the companion title then, the better off your deck will actually be. While you can play independently of Golden Abyss, having both will only flesh out the game more. If this sounds alright to you, be sure to pick it up for $4.99 on December 4th from the PlayStation Store exclusively for the Vita. There will even be some day one DLC too! Time to get hunting!

Still kind of unsure how Uncharted will translate to playing cards, but it's interesting to say the least. I feel like with how powerful the Vita is they would stop cutting corners like this in proper action franchises.

To make a game like Uncharted in a card game considering its Power is a waste of time and money, if given free i wouldnt take it..

Totally agree with you there. I'm sure for Sony this is just a cheap attempt at a money maker. Gotta love apps!
