SNES emulation on the PS Vita hasn't exactly been a total secret, but it is a segment of the scene that did need at least a little bit of improvement. With the use of UO Snes9x, plenty of users have achieved hours of Nintendo-related enjoyment on that ever so gorgeous OLED screen. Still, there was always a huge app missing from this list that had been the delight of thousands in years past, and that was Snes9x TYL. Thankfully, due to a slight modification in the emulator's code, I can now officially say that it is bootable on VHBL. Ready to get your Super Metroid on TYL style? We thought so!

Ever since VHBL's launch, homebrewers everywhere have been chomping at the bit to get their TYL fix on the Vita. Upon trial after trial, nothing seemed to work, which lead Nuer0n to believe the software to be entirely unsupported on his loader. However, thanks to the dilligent work of a coder known as Thorwak, the problem has been identified and removed for our gaming pleasure.

So what was the issue? Apparently the main conflict in the boot process had to do with the Mario-themed intro animation that starts with the emulator. Because of the way the VHBL processes certain PSP sounds, the software immediately encountered a coding conflict and proceeded to crash on boot. Once the error had been located, Thorwak took it upon himself to recompile the much beloved work without the animation. Lo and behold, the program is now fully functional through Vita's premiere homebrew gateway. Get back to using the emulator trusted by the PSP scene for at least half a decade. It's TYL time!
