As usual, the QJ download servers have been abuzz lately with a whole bunch of new games and apps that you should all be checking out. This week's iteration will focus on some of the awesome stuff we have coming out for Sony handhelds from the homebrew scene. That being said, whether you are a newcomer arriving hot off the heels of the Uno exploit, or you remember the days of the OFW 1.5 hack, these are some cool little coded creations you should be paying some attention to.
Ever since the initial rise of the PSP scene, there have been tons of little games that put new homebrew spin on the classic games we love. After all, not only are many titles relatively easy to code, but they can also offer many hours of enjoyment for the right kind of person. One of these efforts comes to us from a Spanish PSP developer known as Jorge_97. Essentially as the title implies, this is a recreation of a classic chess game made specifically for the hacked Sony handheld.

As far as the gameplay itself goes, there are a few main ways to enjoy yourself here. For one, you can play against some pretty well-coded AI, or with a friend by swapping the console back and forth. It's certainly not as fluid as online play might be, but on the bright side it doesn't hurt to play with your buddies in the same room for once. Players also have the ability to choose from the standard or custom game modes as well that allow you to place the pieces wherever you would like them at the start of the match. This surely adds a bit of variety to a setup you probably already know quite well. As I have said, the scene has many small apps like this, but Super Chess remains an important and strong initial effort.
Believe it or not, this next meme app actually comes from the same developer!
