Almost as if out of nowhere it has been announced that the well known developer neur0n has developed a new working exploit for VHBL. Neur0n who is best known for his work on the PSP and his CFW 6.60-ME and also his work on the Pro CFW Team, has found an exploit and taken the next logical step and managed to port it to the PS Vita.

Now this by itself is amazing.  Especially after the dry spell we have had in the PS Vita community due to the difficulty in porting an exploit that will remain functional and stable on the PS Vita. There is no release date as of yet but Wololo is thinking that nothing is going to be released until after the release of firmware 1.80. So let’s all sit back and sit tight and see what happens.  As always we will keep you posted on all of the breaking developments with regard to the release date for VHBL so be sure to check back.

Does this new VHBL news give you hope that there will be some progress made on the PS Vita soon?

Yes yes. Lets kill the Vita like what happened to PSP. Fuckin morons. If this VHBL is intended only for homebrew and other emulators then go. Other than that lets not KILL Vita.

You obviously don't even know what the fudge you're talking about.

This is a port of the PSP's HBL(Homebrew Loader) running on the Vita's PSP emulator.

This will not allow you to play any Vita games, only PSP games and homebrew.

If that could kill the Vita, then surely the Vita would have died without it...

Also, however, at this time, you can't use it(VHBL) to play PSP games.

I still don't get how hacks and CFW killed the psp. Swap disks and mod chips didn't kill the ps2. Hacking the 360 didn't kill it. Why can't people finally see hacks didn't actually affect sales? We're seeing data across many industries that anti-piracy measures aren't fixing sale numbers. Why can't we admit that psp's failure was lack of dual sticks(and to a lessor extent dual triggers), lack of a gimmick, and lack of appeal of hardcore gaming in the handheld market? I don't even think exclusives were a problem, it got enough exclusives. The market psp appealed to was ps2/ps3 gamers but who wants a psp when you could sit in front of a 55 in tv with 7.1 surround sound?

All hacks do is give us more control of our hardware. Its our hardware, we should run our own software if we want. And I'll buy stuff I like anyway.
