PS Vita can act as a PS3 controller |
Listed in: News Tags: Sony, vita

"What could you do with all of this?" teased Sony Europe R&D manager Phil Rogers at the Develop Conference 2011. "Here's a few boring technical ideas: you could drive a display from a PS3 game, for example.
"PS3 can send data down to Vita and Vita can display it. You could use the unique features [of Vita] - gyroscope, touch front and back - as a control device for a PS3 game.
"You can run software on both devices and use the network to sync the game states. And that's pretty good, because you then have the processing power of PS3 doing that work, Vita [doing] fancy graphics - however you want to do it. You're not sacrificing the PS3's CPU to be able to have a rich experience on Vita."
Rogers added that this was "a fairly new idea", and they encourage other developers to talk to them if they have further suggestions for it. "Most of the time we'll be OK with it," he said. Sony recently claimed that PlayStation Vita will be the company’s "easiest and most well supported platform yet."

Dont see how, I gave you no insults, merely data. If you found that offensive, you should stop commenting altogether. It's going to get much worse.
Frankly, that comment made you the dick.

I certainly wouldn't, especially as it hasn't got L2 and R2 Triggers which are needed in most PS3 games.

WiiFu will fail as 3DS fails

I think it's safe to say since:
1. None of the systems depend on each other in order to play the games, this is a feature and it's an optional one.
2. No processing power is sacrificed from either console, which is what happens with the Wii U since it has to stream the data to the controller and also that's why it'll be limited to one Wii U tablet per console, it's too much to stream. And that's not the case with the PS3-PSVita combo.

I'm not sure if they are going to allow us to use the Vita as a controller for EVERY game. It might be some games that don't put use to the L2/R2 (even though the Back-Touch could be used to emulate those triggers) just to stay on the safe side of things. But then again, you never know. Sony just keeps surprising us.
Definitely getting this System! I was thinking about waiting for a Slim Vita, but IDK... I WANT ONE NOW!

I wonder if the Wii U will offer any similar connectivity to the 3DS. Probably not.

I have a ps3 and I was able to play certain games from the psn store remotely from a hot spot outside of my home. I don't think the Pee-U's controller can do that as its just a controller. With the Vita, you won't be limited to just playing games in your house. I plan on getting the Vita so I can play my ps3 games over the places I frequently visit which have wifi hotspots.
