PlayStation Vita release date to be announced at Gamescom? |
Listed in: News Tags: gamescom 2011, SCEE, Sony

That, of course, is still a speculation at this point, and until it does happen at the Sony presser in Cologne. But according to Ryan, in a new interview, his main task for this week is basically to further build up the hype for Vita. So said he, "There is much [that] lies ahead, [but] for us, PS Vita is the focus, and my job is this week - if at press conferences or interviews - is to beat that drum for the Vita."
It's not as daunting a task for him, though, considering that he finds the system to be "so great that this task will be easy." If by drumming that beat for the Vita means announcing the official release date for it, then that's definitely going to be one hell of an attention-getter.
Sony's press conference for Gamescom 2011 is set on August 16th, at 5PM CET. If you can't afford to be in Cologne at this date and time, then you can just enjoy the show right in the comforts of your own home, thanks to their live conference streaming on the PS Home. Also being watched out for are the reveal of a supposed new PS3 model, as well as a price drop for the console.
