PlayStation Vita Getting PlayStation Plus Starting Monday |
Listed in: Games, News Tags: gravity rush, jet set radio, playstation plus, PSOne, uncharted, wipeout 2048
If you happen to be a real Sony fan, odds are you're probably a PlayStation Plus subscriber and might just have a PlayStation Vita. For your fifty dollars a year however, some of you have spent quite some time feeling a little bit cheated. Sure you've been able to get all of those extra goodies on your PS3, but why not handheld stuff? At TGS this year, the company announced that Plus would be coming to Vita "soon," but we can now officially tell you that soon means this Monday.

Before we get to all the content Plus subscribers will be able to get however, let's first talk a little bit about version 2.0. Obviously the big jump in version number signifies that some pretty decent changes are ahead, so let's get into some of those. Other than PlayStation Plus functionality, version 2.0 allows for wireless communication with PCs, tweakable settings for PSOne games, and email connections to GMail and Yahoo. Not too shabby right? If that's not enough, you might also be glad to know that smaller bug fixes and features will also be added to flesh out the web browser.
Still I know that's not what you're here for, so let's talk about the new content. When the store updates a week from today, here are the games that you will now be able to get for FREE:
- Uncharted: Golden Abyss
- Wipeout 2048
- Gravity Rush
- Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack
- Jet Set Radio [Vita Debut]
- Final Fantasy tactics: The War of the Lions (PSP)
Makes that small yearly fee almost seem worth it huh? If you're not already on Plus, maybe today is the time to start

Now if they would just make it so I can play some PS3 games over remote play. (Why the hell can't I play God of War Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta on the Vita?)
