Another Reason To Shout At Your Vita |
Listed in: News Tags: audio call, chat, Playstation, Skype, video call, Webcam

Earlier in the month, it was indirectly confirmed on the EU PlayStation Blog that the long awaited Skype application would be coming to the Vita. It's available today, if you live in the United States. If you're on the other side of the pond, you'll be getting your hands on it tomorrow.
Audio and video calls are definitely something that you can expect to be included in the Vita version of the app. However, that's not what you're going to be using Skype for. The real kicker here is the ability to take advantage of the Vita's multitasking feature by sending Skype to the background. Skype will continue to listen out for calls and alert you while you're taking care of other business, so you don't have to dedicate your time to one or the other.
Check out the official video below to get a glimpse of what Skype looks like:
Once Skype goes live in your area, you can download it from the PS Store, free of charge.

It's gonna work the same way Skype works with other data plans on other platforms.
