Ninja Gaiden III difficulty modes may end up in Sigma for PS Vita

The handheld version of Ninja Gaiden Sigma will be taking a page from Ninja Gaiden III's playbook.

Speaking to gaming news blog VG247, Tecmo Koei's localization head, Peter Garza, revealed that Team Ninja is currently testing out some ideas and control schemes for the PS Vita version of Ninja Gaiden Sigma. It appears that those have yet to be finalized, but apparently the new difficulty modes being introduced in Ninja Gaiden III have been cleared for inclusion in the handheld game.

"One thing I can tell you is that we’re looking at putting in the playstyle selection that we're doing for Ninja Gaiden III, the Hero and Ninja playstyle," Garza stated. "Bringing that to the PlayStation Vita version of Ninja Gaiden Sigma as well, so again, for people who are new to the series or maybe not used to it on a handheld, we think that’ll be a good point of entry for them."

Ninja Gaiden III's Hero Mode places an emphasis on letting players advence through the story. This more casual-friendly mode gives players the advantage of automatic dodges and the ability to block most normal attacks. Ninja Mode, on the other hand, is for players used to dodging and guarding manually. It's totally up to you whether you want the Hero or Ninja Mode, so hopefully there won't be a need to complain that the game is being made too easy.
