Last week, there was a rumor going around about an Assassin's Creed game being developed for the PS Vita. Surprise, surprise, it's E3 time and we have a trailer for Assassin's Creed III: Liberation.

In AC3: Liberation, you'll be taking on the role of Aveline, a woman of mixed African/French heritage who also happens to be an assassin. You'll be running around in 1768 New Orleans, during the Louisiana Rebellion. This was a rebellion by the people against the new Spanish governor of the territory. New Orleans was previously under French control, but in the aftermath of the French and Indian War they lost the territory. And the Nawlins folk weren't too happy about it.

So instead of fighting Brits like you do in AC3, you'll be taking on some Spaniards, and probably some French and New Orleanian sympathizers.

It's interesting that you'll be playing a female assassin, as the developers said previously that they thought it would be unrealistic to do so in AC3.
