Bioshock for the Playstation Vita, Still early stages.

Ken Levine, co-found of Irrational Games, shared the Playstation Vita announcement for Bioshock with the world back at Sony's E3 press conference in June this year.

In a recent interview with Joystiq, Ken described Bioshock for the Playstation Vita as still being in the "paper design stage".

In June, he detailed that Bioshock for the Vita would be a brand-new game, not a simple port of the original as is done with a lot of PSP games.

"I think for us, the idea we have is a really good expression on a platform like that [Vita]," he explained. "It's a different goal. And it has to sort of have its own voice in the franchise. If it just feels like a quieter voice in the franchise, I don't think that works. For us."

"I'd rather do somethingthat's an experiment and that's a little different. And is unique for the franchise."

Given that Irrational Games is a fairly small size developer, it stands to reason that they may choose to outsource the expansion of Bioshock Vita to an external company, allowing them to focus more on their main platforms.

"To keep quality level ... I wish I could say it was easy ... it just tend to be more time consuming," he said reservedly of working with external partners. "It's just hard to find the right partners or the right people to hire."
