Console-exclusive characters in fighting games have become a bit of a trend in the past few years. The trend will continue in Capcom's crossover fighter, Street Fighter x Tekken, which will feature superpowered messenger and inFamous 2 lead Cole McGrath as an exclusive character in the game's PS3 and PS Vita versions.

The Sony side is already taken care of, but what about the game's Xbox 360 release? Capcom has done crossovers with Microsoft characters before, so the possibility certainly exists. As for who it could be, Street Fighter x Tekken producer Yoshinori Ono is still on the fence regarding that one.

"I'm looking and doing a lot of thinking, but I haven’t yet found a character that screams to me – this character should be in a fighting game on Microsoft's side," he said. "I'm not saying there isn’t a character like that, but I haven't personally thought of one yet."

Ono added that he'd "love to hear from the fans", so here's my own two cents: add Inphyy from Ninety Nine Nights. In case you never heard of her before, here's a pic:

Yeah, I know Ninety Nine Nights (and probably even the character, although I've seen a few Inphyy cosplayers) wasn't that popular and Inphyy's weapon-based fighting style seems better suited to a series like Soul Calibur, but I think she's still a way better fit than Master Chief or anybody from the Gears of War games. The lack of popularity would be a definite minus for Inphyy, though. Second choice? Maybe Joanna Dark. Microsoft owns the Killer Instinct brand too, so they could probably mine it for possible characters and capitalize on a bit of nostalgia.
