PoV: Madden NFL 12 demo impressions

EA Sports recently released the Madden NFL 12 demo on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Does the latest installment make significant gameplay improvements, or is it more of the same yet again?

Like past Madden demos, players are restricted to two teams. In this year's demo, players will be able to re-live the NFC Championship game between the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears.

Madden 12 runs on the same engine Madden 11 did, so character models and animations look exactly the same as last year's game. Despite some great texture detail, models still look somewhat awkward and animations are still a bit clunky.

However, EA Sports has made some strides in the gameplay mechanics. Tackling is much easier in Madden 12, a breath of fresh air for gamers who suffered from the shoddy tackling in last year's game. Play-action passes are no longer insta-suicide, as the offensive line will hold their blocks longer.

Some other small additions have been made here and there, notably in gameflow. In Madden 11, gameflow was essentially "Ask Madden," but now players can select a gameflow play for different scenarios, including gameplan, aggressive, and pass.

Still, all of these new features and improvements with the game could have been added through a patch.

they really didn't...1thing ever 1 ask'd 4 they last what 2or3years online franchise. last year they said it wasn't alot of people in a online franchise bs so the added 3v3 n a teamup. this year instead of online franchise they only improved offline franchise. if we had another football game 2K, EA would really do more,i guess they waiting 4 the Wii U an ps4 an new 360 to drop. i wonder could ps3 get licence an do there own football title i bet it would be 10x better

So, no reason they couldn't have just issued a series of patches.

Or just release a $30 expansion or basically an installable disc with all the content necessary to turn 11 into 12.
