PoV: A simple reason why New Vegas is better than Fallout 3 |
Listed in: Xbox 360 Tags: Bethesda, fallout 3, new vegas

Fallout 3 is a critically acclaimed game from Bethesda, but New Vegas, which was scored lower by reviewers, is the better game for one simple reason.
Throughout the entire game, Fallout 3 never manages to erase a feeling of claustrophobia. While it's accurate considering the setting, Fallout 3 is littered with underground metros that players have to explore very frequently. The game seldom allows players to explore above ground for a long period of time, thus making Fallout 3 feel extremely linear and limited.
Fallout: New Vegas has a far better setting than its predecessor, thanks to a wild west theme and a wide open world. Players get the feeling that they can do anything and go anywhere in New Vegas since the game doesn't force players to travel through annoying metros. Not only that, but New Vegas has more civilization. I realize that it's a post-apocalyptic world, but the fact that New Vegas has some towns here and there, Las Vegas, and an awesome conflict between the NCR and Caesar's Legion makes it a far more enjoyable game.

A cliche is overused and often times campy.
A glitch is what you described.
