Everyone is getting all riled up over Battlefield 3's framerate and resolution, but you really shouldn't be. It's going to be an amazing game either way.

Ask yourself this question: do you buy games to sit there and look at them, or to play them?

Put yourself in this scenario: you're playing a game and you're having the most fun that you've ever had. Do you notice that the game is running in 30 FPS on an SDTV?

Something is seriously wrong with you if you're that much bothered by the framerate and resolution in the console versions of Battlefield 3. Last time I checked, Battlefield 3 looked to be an awesome first person shooter in a genre that is bogged down by Call of Duty and similar carbon-copies.

The difference between SD and HD is so small that it shouldn't matter that this game isn't running at 1080p. In fact, most console games don't even run in that full HD resolution.

As long as the framerate doesn't skip around, 30 FPS is perfectly fine. Does that make Modern Warfare 3 a better game since it runs ar 60 FPS? No, because MW3 is a shooter that lacks imagination.

people are lifeless these days. they have spent every hour of every day just sitting there playing games so much that they can tell the different in frame rate. they have to otherwise they wouldn't have given a fuck.

ive played many games at 30FPS. its still a fucking game. play and enjoy. then go outside.

You might have a point somewhere in there, but different people have different affinities for noticing things like framerates. Some people don't notice the difference unless they try really hard, but for some of us it's hard not to, it's that immediately obvious, like how a musician can tell when their instrument is out of tune by fractions.

Whether I give a shit or not's irrelevant, but I can tell the difference because I just can.

you know when you are playing a game and sometimes the image freezes for a fraction of a second? that annoying freeze is a framedrop...

when your game that is running at 60 fps has a framedrop, it goes to 25fps-30fps(when you notice the freeze).... now imagine a framedrop from a game that is running on 30fps.

I play all my games just fine, and really do not see how a framedrop would ruin a game for me, u kids need to get a GF or a BF, is up to ur choice, and stop living inside ur boxes or monoliths....
I really love to play games but u know to live is not that bad either.

i think most dvd's run at 35ish or less. Did u go out and buy that blueray just for 60fps? probably not which means u won't be buying cod, or bf3 u poor pos.

When you think about it 15fps is probably all you need, wouldn't even chop I reckon. One moment is about 473ms, 1000ms in 1 second so u witnessed what?

Don't call people retarded when discussing subject matter you yourself apparently know nothing about.

Films can safely be stored and viewed at lower framerates because the way they're recorded splices the frames together in a way so that the transition between frames is smooth. GPUs don't render images that way, and is the reason they look so artificial at low framerates.

Studies have placed our perception ceiling on FPS at about 100FPS, though it obviously varies by person.

Since I've got my 3D 120Hz screen I've been playing games on 120FPS and the smoothness is uncomparable to 60FPS.

On my desktop (Just using my mouse, dragging windows around) it's amazing how much smoother the 120Hz is. I'm so used to it that I find 60Hz screens crap.

You might have played games on a higher FPS then the refresh rate of the screen you've been playing it on. Than it's not really noticeable.

And 15 FPS? That's utter crap. I wonder tho for BF3, as 3D splits the FPS in half most of the time, how the fuck would one get 1080p, best settings and 3D? I hope I can pull it off >.

Since this sounds more like a personnel article I will talk freely no affiance to any of you but I hate COD, BF, or any thing like it. The reason is because all you do is run around the map and get killed by a camper and the guns all just spray, its very boring and not worth the money. An FPS I like is one were you can aim for the head like CS, CSS, DOD, DODS or even a game like AVA just a long as you can aim for the head and not spray for the head. I also hate the huge maps all you do is run around that is why I like games like CS.

You do know that the average person does recognize this, it's colloquially known as "lag".

Now me, I don't care whether it is in 60 FPS or 30 just as long as it plays smooth with no drop in framerate. In other words, no lag.

You guys realize that the average human eye can only see 24 frames per second? increasing frames past that only smooths it out to look nicer, crisper and has less chance of dropping bellow 24 frames and looking choppy. going over 24 frames only softens the transition between the frames that your eyes can and cannot see. the reason why you can notice a freeze (or skip) when there is a drop in frames is because it happens during one of the 24 frames your eyes pick up and thus creating a double or choppy frame.
i may be wrong about all of this cause i am pretty blazed lol

Dice is full of sh#$ if you ask me. First they said consoles aren't powerful enough to host 64 player battles and now this? Mag for PS3 does it and Frontlines Fuel of War does it. Dice says the tech isn't there and Xbox and PS3 post bandwith limitations but I have played MAG with a 768k dsl with no lag so I'd like to call bullsh#$ on that as well. It's laziness due to the fact of BF3 being on 3 platforms. Stop making excuses dice!

you have just stated the one thing i've been trying to tell people for the past 2 years. and it's true. look at the wii 480p 480i and the games are fun. alot of people agree. i enjoy playing core games on the xbox and ps3,and psp. so why should people start up a rant of how great it looks when they can enjoy the game.
