Media outlets are going over the top with the recent Wii successor rumors.
Yesterday I talked about which rumors should be trusted pertaining to the Wii's successor. Things like system specs and HD output are a given, but today media outlets are running rampant with rumors from "trusted sources."
IGN has been the front runner today, saying that the new console's controller will feature a six inch screen that can stream content such as games, video, and apps. The've also said that the console is codenamed "Project Cafe," and that Nintendo will have first party and third party games on display at this year's E3.
The rumors originate from 01.net, a French website that had the first details on Sony's NGP before its official unveil.
At this point, it feels like websites like IGN and CVG are really going over the top with these rumors just to get page views. IGN even went as far as to say that the six inch screen is "confirmed." If it doesn't happen, do people boycott IGN? They've been unreliable in the past -- I'm still waiting on that Kid Icarus game for Wii they promised. And Rogue Squadron Wii.

I would prefer a slot to insert the Nintendo-64DD, which I will buy on e-bay one day...for.. whatever reason...BUTS MUST BE COMPATIBLE.. and with a touch screen if possible so I can play my NDS games..

Latest rumour: Wii 2 is going to be more powerful than a High-End PC.
Just kidding, but people are making rumours with really high expectations.
I don't expect nothing fancy from Nintendo, probably games are in HD, with a graphic card similar to 7800 NVIDIA, a regular console controller and a standard Nintendo menu.
Nintendo Wii 2 games on Blu-ray? Why bother, Wii games without the junk don't even fill a DVD5.
