PoV: What will Zelda's 25th Anniversary game be?

According to several reports, Nintendo will be unveiling their 25th Anniversary plans for the Zelda series at E3 2011. It's said to be a new Zelda title, but will it be a compilation of old games or something compltely new?

I'd be very disappointed with Nintendo if they packed a few older Zelda games on a Wii disc and called it a day, similar to Mario's 25th Anniversary last year. Considering the amount of secrecy Nintendo is showing with Zelda's 25th, I don't think we'll have to worry about that.

Shigeru Miyamoto recently voiced his desire to remake The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, I think it's possible Nintendo will do just that. It then becomes a matter of whether fans want to play it on Wii or 3DS -- a Wii remake could be a full 3D, Twilight Princess styled game, and a 3DS remake could be the classic SNES version with stereoscopic 3D.

It could be something else entirely, too. Miyamoto said that he's working on something that will allow Zelda fans to "celebrate together," so is it a new Four Swords game with online multiplayer? We'll see in just six days.

What are you hoping Nintendo does for Zelda's 25th Anniversary? Sound off in the comments below and be sure to continue the discussion on the forums.

Remake of a link to the past bundled with a remake of links awakening in 3D to push sales for the system.
Although I would be ecstatic if it was a Majora's Mask remake to go along with OoT on the 3DS to complete story in a way.

I would kill for a shot for shot HD Remix of Link to the Past. But we all know, considering the extreme lack of love for the Mario Anniversary collection, the Zelda Anniversary game will probably be nothing more than another overpriced, but nicely boxed, rom bundle.

Not to mention, since they didn't include Super Mario World on the Mario Bundle, they might forgo Link to the Past as well.

I'm guessing something to push 3DS sales. With the 3DS really only being an upgrade of the DS they're going to have a hard time getting previous owners to upgrade.

A link to the past in 3D that's heavily revamped might be all there is to it. But then again, they're already releasing a Zelda title in that fashion so....hopefully there's much more to it.

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see a remake of the original and/or second title. Much in the way they remade the original mario.

It just shows Nintendo's a shadow of what they used to be if all they can manage is a remake for the 25 year anniversary. Don't care if it's HD, 3D, SD or STD Nintendo's almost as bad as Sega now for cashing in on old franchises.
