The Uncharted 3 multiplayer beta hit the PSN yesterday. How does it compare to Uncharted 2?

The core gameplay is, of course, exactly the same. Aside from the maps, Uncharted 3's multiplayer feels exactly the same as its predecessor's.This isn't necessarily bad, but it does mean that U3 isn't exactly the best multiplayer game.

There are some new additions to the gameplay, though. Players are now able to sprint by holding down L3. I'm not sure how useful this is as characters move pretty fast to begin with, but it looks like a nice option if you need to get away from a fight. Players can also high-five each other, similar to taunts in the previous game, but again, it's nothing ground breaking.

Naturally, the game looks beautiful. It looks like Naughty Dog used the same exact engine from Uncharted 2 -- only the environments look different.

The biggest change to this new multiplayer is the bevy of customization options. Players can now attach weapon upgrades, change their character's clothing, and more. There are also "kickbacks," which are very similar to killstreaks.

Overall, the Uncharted 3 multiplayer beta gives a great feel for what the final game's multiplayer will feel like. However, Uncharted 3 is all about the single player, and I'm sure that will be as fantastic as ever.

Can't really judge it because all it was, was a multiplayer demo, not a single player demo level.

It was fun, though.

Think it's pretty good. that freezing issue from yesterday tripped me up a little. Thought my console had died or something.

Stop writing articles if you dont know what you are talking about.

The gameplay is completely different, less sharp and acurate, and everything is more slow.

I put in a lot of hours(days, weeks?) in UC2. I understand where people are coming from saying that the controls feel different... it took me a few matches to get adjusted, but I think players will eventually appreciate the changes. After playing for a few hours each of the last 3 days, the controls feel comfortable, I'm starting to catch on to the new additions and I'm very excited for the new game.

There were some CRIPPLING technical issues on day one of the beta (my PS3 frove 6 times before I quit for the night), but it seems like they've got that fixed and I'm getting into matches faster than I ever did in UC2 and haven't seen any weird lag issues, which surprised me.

There are a few things I don't love, the sprint certainly needs some work, but this is BETA afterall and now is the time to voice your opinion to Naughty Dog. There are a lot of new things going on that might turn off UC2 MP fans, if that's the case, try out a "Hardcore" match... my favorite so far. I guess you have to try it yourself, but I have no reason to believe this new iteration of the franchise will be anything less than breathtaking. I'll be playing this game a whole lot, that's for sure!
