PoV: NBA 2K12 demo impressions
|
|
It's a straight up demo which tries to showcase the latest improvements of the series, problem is, it's stripped down and way too short.

Unfortunately, Dirk's hair is still all glued up on this one
Yesterday, I was all pump up to to download the demo of NBA 2K12, the latest iteration of 2K Sports best selling basketball sim. So I fired up my PS3 and quickly headed to the PlayStation Store to grab hold of the 1.11 GB file. The demo features a rematch of the NBA Finals with the Miami Heat taking on the Dallas Mavericks. Should be fun right?
Well, not exactly, as the demo only allows you to play as the Dallas Mavericks (not that I don't like Dallas, but a two team option could be much fun). The demo was also structured in a single four minute quarter, with no options for play-calling, no commentary, no sliders, and additional camera views which is a big bummer for me.
Though the demo was way too short, on the positive side, the visual improvements is really impressive, not to mention the new animations that makes the game more realistic than ever. The controls have also been tweaked along with a mych smarter AI.
But everything could have been much better if the demo was much longer. NBA 2K12 will be released on October 4, 2011, for the PS3, PS2, Xbox 360, Wii, PSP and Windows PC. Did any of you guys downloaded the demo? What's your impressions so far? Share your thoughts below or continue the discussion at the forums.
