Sound Off: Best Game Ever Made |
Listed in: PC Gaming Tags: mass effect, shenmue, super mario rpg, Zelda
Ask any gamer about their favorite game and chances are good you’ll get an earful. However, there is often a big difference between what gamers think of as their favorite title, and what gamers consider the best game ever made. For instance, my favorite game of all time is Super Mario RPG—but I wouldn’t say it’s the best game ever made. Far from it, in fact.

So, QJ readers, we want to know what you think. What is the best game you’ve ever played? It doesn’t have to be your favorite, and it doesn’t have to be a game universally accepted as a “best of.” It’s all up to you. Hell, quite a bit of our personal preferences in gaming come from the nostalgia of remember fun times with old games; modern games are almost always technically superior.
Here’s your chance to let everyone know where you land on the great debate. Sound off in the comments and tell us which game you think deserves the throne. Spoiler alert: Ocarina of Time will show up at least once.
Oh, and keep it civil!

But seriously, one of the best games I've ever played was Metal Gear Solid. Common man, was I the only one running around the whole game (from beginning to the point where I couldn't progress anyfurther) and looking through all the damn floppy disk (in game) and everywhere to find Meryl's Code? After 3 hours of stress, I finally gave in and gamefaq-ed it. And sure enough, it was the back of the actual game disc. Ah...Good times...Oh wait!
"So you like Castlevnia Don't you?"
a huge WTF moment since before reaching that point, I was kicking ass with Alucard on Symphony of the Night.

It had a unique storyline.
A great soundtrack that fit the game.
A good atmosphere.
Good character development.
A turn-based system that somehow managed not to be fun and different.
My second favorite game is Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow.

The jump from SNES to PS1 was HUGE, the graphics jump, the side quests/mini games(Example: chocobo breeding/racing)...etc.

I have to say that final fantasy VII was VERY good for its time maybe not the best when it comes to graphics but gameplay, story and music was awesome.
However i cant say that final fantasy X is worse. Its just that it didnt impress tecnologically that much in its era. But I actally think it had better graphics, just as fun gameplay, just as good music and a really really good story with awesome characters. But why cant I say it was better then FFVII then? Maybe because FFX didnt hit me while I still was in that age?? Or maybe because FFVII intruduced me to that kind of game and was a really good game. I dunno..
And there is also world of warcraft.
I cant say its my favorite game.
But I mean there is a reason why its so popular and why so many people is playing it instead of other less expensive mmorpg's.
Anyone can play it really, there is a lot to do, the graphics is simple yet beautiful, the music is great, the warcraft lore is awesome and its continuesly changing. The perfecs formula for getting people addicted.

Also Ninja Gaiden (xbox) was defenitly the most exiting 1 player game I ever played, after it every action game seems to be easy, I just can't forget my fights against Alma LOL so fucking hard, Like those awesome SNES games but in 3D :D.
