With the recent findings in EA Origin's Terms of Service, will you be using it over Steam?

Hidden in its ToS is a statement that EA will remove inactive games and accounts over the course of 24 months. It's not that big of a deal if you play games frequently, but I have tons of games on Steam that I haven't played in a very long time.

If Steam was EA Origin, those games would disappear.

How do you feel about the service now? I don't think it'll dethrone Steam as the main service for PC gaming. Steam has gotten so big over the years with a huge community behind it. The frequent sales are awesome, too. The only upside I see with Origin would be the access to exclusive content for EA games, such as Battlefield 3.

I feel sorry for the people that voted down.

I mean, if you really want to get robbed of your property then go ahead, cause thats basically what E.A will be doing.

DeltaDAWG has many accounts. He keeps voting everyone down except me so people think I'm rating everyone down.
He's just a troll.
It has nothing to do with your opinion. He's just a doucher.

"DeltaDAWG has many accounts"

Who has many accounts? The proof is in the links boys and girls. crait has 8-10 accounts and he has claimed to use them to trash the rating system. He has also claimed that his sole purpose is to now trash my screen name so of course he would say and do this. Oh what a tangled web we weave....

Only a douche bag creates 8+ accounts to act like a damn child. So it makes perfect sense that you are STILL acting like a douche bag and trashing everyones comments.

But go ahead. Keep claiming it was me. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if it was someone who hated you so much they're doing this on their own. Maybe even a certain writer you keep ranting about/at. It would be more beneficial to QJ to make you leave then to delete your account as you'll just create a new one.

In the end, maybe you should quit acting like a douchebag and just stop all the childish BS. Because no matter how you dish it up, creating 8+ accounts is just plain pathetic.

I'll probably have to use it if I want to purchase BF3 online, but in the end I'll use the Steam overlay. I'm going to take as little as possible of whatever EA is imposing with Origin.

Accounts seems reasonable enough to me but games? No that is highly illogical.

So when BF3 gets a resurgence like BF2 seems to be getting at the moment a few years down the track when BF4 ultimately comes out everyone will have to buy it again...money grubbing assholes. I'm definitely not buying it now

No to Origin, but mainly do to the fact that I do not want to deal with more than one Digital Distribution Platform! Steam has all that I want.

I'd sooner die than let EA handle how, when, and where I can play my games. Same goes for Activision.

Well of course we can see whats truely goin'on here.

This is the Corp test centre for the future of Game distro...these corp fuker's always plan way ahead believe me, so before anyone says "complete digital Distro is way off in the future". That would be true but as we have observed from the remarkable creation of "ONLINE PASSes", since that has now already been accepted by the DUMB fuks out there who need there (DAY 1) MULTIPLAY fixes every Publisher is jumping on it. And thats just the beginning. Next it'll be 1 time CODES just to play the whole damn game at all! So that you are lumbered with it forever and that it can NEVER be sold as USED!
EA are probably the biggest of the DiRTY trickster publishers out there as this ORIGIN shit is REALLY a way to test Gamers vulnerability to lazily pay for products at the click of a button. PC for starters and the main PLAN is for CONSOLES (of course). They dont give a fuk about PC...the profits are in CONSOLE!!!

PS.....I like STEAM (just for PC/MAC/LINUX) I mean for computers....It's cheap, it's fair, only for computer versions of titles (and keep to it).

Consoles are honestly a RIP OFF.
My library is mostly comprised of USED (hardware/software). And I like to keep it that way as it's my choice as to how much I will pay for what I want - NOT the CORPS!!!

So....Boycott the MF's by not buying titles and products on DAY 1. Leave it for a while, I do! And I'm all the well off for it....you can be too!

I've got old games cartridges i haven't used in over 20 years and some are pretty valuable now, so like fuck am i ever gonna pay full price for a game that gets deleted after 2 years, i mean stuff like PSN's bad enough knowing if Sony goes bust you'll lose everything but this takes greed to a whole new level when they expect you to treat games like printer cartridges and just throw it out when you finished.

Digital rental distribution instead of owner ship sounds more like it. I paid for the product so I should Be the one to decide when the game gets deleted!

These sorts of restrictions are becoming popular. Look at Sony's psn+ service the main highlight of the service is the cheap free games you get. Sadly you only get to keep the freebies as long as you keep paying your monthly subscription.

Steam is a great service but I've heard rumors on the internet that if for what ever reason a person gets banned, they lose access to all games purchased from them. Should only lose access to the online portion of the games you purchased.

These sorts of restrictions are what will keep most consumers buying the dvd version of the games. I for one prefer to own the game I bought for life if I so choose too. No company should be allowed to dictate how long I own the product I bought from them, I'm not renting!
