PoV: Pro Evo Soccer gets Facebook App

Konami recently released their FIFA figher, Pro Evo Soccer 2012 and with great games now apparently comes great social game additions. It seems that analysts predicting the use of Call of Duty Elite, even before it broke out with Modern Warfare 3, were fairly right. Games will have some kind of integration with social networks such as Facebook or Google+.

What will happen, other than gigantic flame wars and pissing competitions with other gamers, is the possibility of an entire gaming network or...Gamebook as it were, that will develop out of this generation of gamers. Despite my above joke about anti-social gamers, I find that the average good time with gamers often involves a sense of comradery that I imagine people who do real things like having jobs and playing sport, get all the time.

A gaming social network would be better in setting up tournaments and increase in the creation of games, marketing and also the feedback between gamers, players and developers. As we saw a few years ago with the release of Modern Warfare 2, despite the people claiming over and over again that dedicated servers would be their reason to boycott the FPS, still a good three hundred thousand copies were sold on it's first day and launched several sequels. Now with a wider audience, a more open forum we could actually get movements where fans of a series would have a greater say regarding the creation of a game, it could possibly make it the greatest game ever made...after Saints Row 3 comes out of course.

So where do you sit on the social gaming fence? Think it's good for gamers or do you think it'll just end in bloody tears?
