PoV: Will there be a 3DS flashcard soon?

A video of the first Nintendo 3DS flashcard hit the web, only it was in its very early stages and could only play one game. Is this a sign of things to come?

The developers of the above "flashcard" are asking for pre-orders of $99 for anyone interested in the device. There's no word on when it will finish development.

I suspect there will be several 3DS flashcards at some point. It's inevitable. What I'm more interested in seeing is if Nintendo is able to combat flashcards with 3DS system updates. Users have to agree to Nintendo's ToS, allowing them to brick any system that uses a flashcard.

You are wrong. It would be against the law of more then a dozen countries for them to do that.

If you alter any part of the system space and an update happens to blow up the 3DS then that's on you. But for them to intentionally disable your system because of a suspect THIRD PARTY ACCESSORY, that would be against the law.

A "flash cart" (these days) is nothing more then an unlicensed game on your DS. It does nothing to alter any part of your DS. Anyone, anywhere could be frauded (?) into buying a bogus unlicensed game, that doesn't give anyone the right to blow up your hardware.

Just wait. When the first flashcard for 3ds comes out there will be others made and heaps cheaper.

Look at the PS3 jailbreak dongles. They started at about $199 and ended up at about $15 so just wait and they will be heaps cheaper shortly after the first is released.

100% false.

$99? Holy crap! Not even if it had every single feature of all flash carts combined. Who are they? How good is their support? I'll wait for the makers of DSTwo to produce something. I've been ultra happy with them. They update their FW SAME DAY! Awesome support and features.

Nice video though. Clear, bright, can see everything, no tricks that I can think of.
