It may have taken roughly a decade to happen, but the long-awaited to the immortal Blizzard RTS Starcraft is finally underway. This video is a walkthrough by the developers themselves on what's new with this white-hot prospect.

For one, everything is being given some true 3D treatment comparable to Warcraft III but significantly better. Fans of the original game need not worry as the interface and the overall feel has been preserved to keep the sequel in touch with the classic predecessor. The effects are looking very nice, even in this early showing.

The video shows the mysterious Protoss planning to annihilate a Terran party before they become fodder for the voracious Zerg. A fight, of course, ensues and the developers explain the new combat systems that the game carries. The word is that Starcraft 2 will be more like the first game than Warcraft III in terms of the battle system, meaning there could be less premium on casting and micromanagement. Anyway, see the video and tell us what you think. We'll update you soon for more.
