“Portal” was a small game that turned into a massive success. “Portal 2” was a larger game with success to match the first. Now, Valve is looking to build on the “Portal” name by giving you an all-new downloadable content package, available on all “Portal 2” launch systems today. For free!

Titled “Peer Review,” this DLC pack centers on the lovable and clumsy heroes of “Portal 2” co-op campaign, ATLAS and P-body. The events take place after the main storyline of “Portal 2,” and since Valve confirms that GLaDOS is involved in this new round of testing, it’s safe to assume she’s somehow managed to stay alive inside the Aperture compound. You and a friend will need to tackle new obstacles as the daring duo, while unraveling yet another Aperture mystery.

“You and your co-op science partner are once again awoken and assembled for a dangerous new mission. Did we say "dangerous"? We meant routine. Everything's fine. That slight note of terror you're hearing in GLaDOS's voice is probably just an audio calibration error. Anyway, on with your suicide mission. And when we say "suicide mission" we mean it would be suicide not to take this mission. Because it's so safe. Everything's fine.”

This free DLC comes hot on the heels of the announcement that “Portal 2” is now 50% off on Steam; if you haven’t jumped into the game yet, now is the perfect time to start. I really love Valve’s strategy for making money – offer content for free or cheap and then sell people ridiculous hats.
