Dead Island Dev may have released wrong version |

Basically, the video game equivalent of "the dog ate my Source Code", after a series of mishaps ranging from the game being released early, the development code being leaked and now Day One patching, it has not been a smooth road for Deep Silver and Dead Island.
While the game is getting rave reviews for it's integration of Dead Rising meets Left 4 Dead, the game has reportedly been a problem for PC users on Steam as the game's code may be a post-alpha version.
Reported initially on The Escapist Magazine website, a curious player started poking around inside the game's code, and discovered that the Steam version of the game is actually a developer's build. There seems to be some dispute over whether this is a development build of the Xbox 360 version released by accident, or a master development build which all the other versions sprung from for consoles. Nevertheless, the consensus seems to be that someone has released the wrong version to the public, and that is what is causing all the problems.
Developer Techland and DeepSilver and Square Enix have yet to comment on the matter but I think someone cocked up and that they're going to be picking up the pieces or picking apart their staff...either way I'll be buying the game when it's released here in two days regardless of what's happened...as long as they'll fix it for the PS3 build...okay, now I've made myself worry
