Top Gun: Hard Lock inspired by classic 80's film

It's known as much for its steamy sex scenes and cheesy 80s soundtrack as for its slick dogfights and callsigns, but the Top Gun film is still interesting enough to be spawning game titles, it would seem.

Top Gun: Hard Lock, is a modern day arcade flight sim being developed by 505 games. Announced at E3 2011, they had this to say at the release.

“Based on Paramount Pictures’ classic film, Top Gun: Hard Lock is set in the present day with a brand new story line and new wave of elite naval aviators fresh out of the Top Gun academy. In Top Gun: Hard Lock gamers fly right back into the danger zone for a jet propelled flight combat adventure with all the flair of a modern day action blockbuster.”

Sounds like they will definitely be putting the 'arcade' back in arcade flight sim. The game will be released on Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. No release date has been confirmed.
