Runaway 2: The Dream of the Turtle, the sequel to Europe's 2003 Game of the Year Runaway, is a road adventure game that features charismatic heroes Brian Basco and Gina Timmings, colourful characters and humour typical of classic cartoon movies.
In Runaway 2, players progress and interact with real living environments through six main chapters. There are more than 100 places all over the globe for players to explore: Alaska, Hawaii, beneath the sea, in the sky, in the heart of a jungle, or on board a huge yacht. As players move deeper into the game they face puzzles and enigmas of advancing difficulty levels that must be solved using clues that appear throughout the game. Part of the original game's success is the generous sprinkling of humor with references to cinema, cartoon, and video games. Runaway has been described a real comedy that goes all out crazy at times with great gags and way-out puzzles.
So far, the only un-funny thing about Runaway 2: Dream of the Turtle is the series of release delays that has prevented fans from taking on the new adventure. "It takes a long time to make a play, especially when one wants to make an excellent play," was the reason given by Pendulo Studio. But according to buzz the game will finally be released on November 17.
