Audiosurf, Race Driver: GRID patches air on Steam - Image 1

Steam users, heads up: Valve has released updates to Audiosurf and the online distributed version of Race Driver: GRID to the servers. If you own either game, you should be have received an update alert lately, as this has been announced a day ago.

Fans of the addicting psychedelic rhythm game Audiosurf will find that the upcoming radio songs content will unlock a new "Everybody mono" mode. Plus, Valve says that they've coded the online CD track data search to siphon data via XML.

For race drivers out there, Race Driver: GRID gets a couple of stability optimizations so that crashes and overflows would be less likely. Got the Rumblepad v2.0 from Logitech? That gamepad should be detected properly this time around when forcing the program to autodetect keymap presets. Same goes for the rest of the controllers currently coded in. Changes include:
  • Fix for sessions list overflow and missing characters in front end
  • Fix for errors generated on game shutdown
  • Support for TrackIR
  • Online experience points: more points awarded for completing longer races
  • Assists on/off toggle added to session creation and browsing
  • All offline events (apart from head-to-heads and touge) are now available online (event voting screen now scrolls to see additional championships)
  • Fixed GRID startup issue where it appears as a process in Task Manager but fails to run
  • Additional experience points are awarded for not colliding with other cars whilst racing damage on or forward sessions
