Windows Store Opens in 120 Markets Today |

As is appropriate on the day of Apple's massive iPhone 5 reveal, Microsoft has come through in their own way with the official opening of the Windows Store for its latest operating system. You may be telling me, "the Windows store has existed for a while now so this is nothing new, "and you are at least partially right in that regard. However today is a very important day in the scheme of independent development on PCs, because as of right now development tools are now open to the public in a full 120 markets.

With Windows 8, it's clear that Microsoft is taking many measures to go head to head with Apple, and one of those features happens to be the Windows Store. Instead of having the typically closed off environment that Apple espouses within its own App Store, this marketplace prides itself on being open to as many potential buyers as humanly possible. After all, with larger audiences comes a bigger paycheck for both Microsoft as well as the app's developer, so why not take on such a strategy.
Speaking of paychecks, it seems the Windows store will also be pretty open to paying its developers well through a milestone system. For example, if you app makes more than $25,000 as the developer you're going to be raking in a full 80% of the profits, which should line your pockets quite nicely. Additionally, even if you aren't super tech savy Microsoft will have you covered with plenty of step by step tutorials to get you started. Think you can design the next hit Windows app? The big wigs at MS want to give you that chance!
