Why no Red Dead Redemption on PC?

Rockstar has explained the reason why their western epic, Red Dead Redemption, has not been announced for the PC just yet.

Last September, the developer/publisher confirmed that a PC version of L.A. Noire is already in the works. Their upcoming title, Max Payne 3, will also be getting a PC release when it launches next year. So why did they skip a PC release of Red Dead Redemption?

"We hope that with the announcement that L.A. Noire is coming to PC this fall, and the knowledge that our next big game Max Payne 3 will have a PC release (plus that we’ve released both Grand Theft Auto IV and the Episodes from Liberty City for PC), we can finally put to rest any misconceptions that we’ve ‘abandoned the PC platform’," notes Rockstar in the latest round of "Asked & Answered" portion on the Rockstar Newswire.

"We do know that, yes, there is just one title absent from our PC release plans – that game of course being Red Dead Redemption, and of course we’re well aware that some fans have been asking for it. All we can say is that whenever it is viable (technically, developmentally and business-wise) for us to release a game for PC (or any other particular platform)  – we will and we usually do; unfortunately, that is just not the case 100% of the time for all platforms."

Looks like PC gamers will have to settle for the available Grand Theft Auto titles, and the upcoming L.A. Noire and Max Payne 3 for now. Let's just hope Rockstar changes their mind on this one, as Red Dead Redemption, in my opinion, is one of the greatest video games ever made.

I truly loved the game, it had an AMAZING story line and excellent gameplay. I finished it on my friends PS3 and got so addicted to it. I really was disappointed when I heard it was ONLY for console, I truly hope it gets released for PC because it was truly an excellent game and not many people actually saw that..........Rockstar is a good company and I think they should make many more games like that, they are good at creating Wild West games. It was a dramatic, very sad and very action packed story, one of the most greatest stories out there. I hope they make part 2, because if they do im getting a PS3 :-)............ I'm only 14 but I loved it!
