Look, I know that Pandaren existed in the Warcraft universe before Kung Fu Panda was a thing. I also know they were initially introduced as an April Fool’s joke, and that Blizzard wasn’t expecting a bunch of furry-hugging fanboys to fall instantly and deeply in love with the concept. But they did, and pandas, for better or worse, have been a strange but fun part of Warcraft ever since.

That doesn’t, however, make this trailer for World of Warcraft’s Mists of Pandaria expansion look any less like Kung Fu Panda:

I mean…..there’s kung fu, and it’s being performed by a panda. It doesn’t really matter which thing came first. There’s going to be no escaping the comparison, regardless of intent. Speaking of which--I’m not sure exactly sure what Blizzard was going for here. If they wanted a cartoony, ridiculous concept no one would take seriously voiced by a Japanese caricature, they totally nailed it.

But hey, that’s just me. What does everyone else think?
