Watch: Prototype 2 E3 2011 'Action' trailer

Alex Mercer is still in Prototype 2, but in reverse Terminator 2 style flippage he's now the big bad. The hero in the sequel is a grizzled military veteran named Sgt. James Heller who has a huge bone to pick with Mr. Mercer. So, what can players do as Sgt. Heller? Find out in the game's E3 2011 trailer below.

Prototype 2 is currently being developed by Radical Entertainment. Acivision will once again be publishing the game. It's currently scheduled for release late next year on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

Radical Entertainment isn't making major changes to the original's core gameplay, but they are making a few improvements. For one, they've put "some real thought" into how a big city like New York would react to a virulent outbreak. The result? "A smoother, more considerate game world that allows you to properly feel like you're the strongest, smartest, slickest kid in the playground."

Some elements won't be making a comeback in the sequel like the muscle mass power. Also, the power store won't be making a reappearance, but instead there will be underground lairs where you can absorb powers and upgrades from enemies. You can find more details here.
