Warface Dev: Russian Gamers Are Hardcore |
Listed in: News Tags: cryengine 3, free to play shooter, Russia, warface
Remember I wrote about the free to play Warface recently? The game has stunning CryENGINE 3 visuals, is completely (with exception to premium items, of course) free and now has gone live in Russia, as opposed to everyone else waiting for the closed beta to kick off (apart from China, for whom the closed beta has already begun).
The art director of the game also has a few words about the game’s Russian market, saying that Russian players are more ‘hardcore’. They prefer higher difficulties, gun recoil and an all-round more realistic experience.
Also, Chinese players are apparently more willing to purchase upgrades and items in a free-to-play game, but in Russia it’s less preferred so the purchasable upgrades are more for comfort than any physical advantage in the game
It’s nice to see that developers are catering for the preferences of different regions, but it does make it a bit harder to compete with gamers around the world on some fair scale.
Will you be trying Warface out any time soon?
