Vista and X360 are not separate gaming platforms says MS exec |
Ó
We have reported a lot of CES developments for PC gaming lately. There's that report about the launching of Xbox Live for Windows Vista this summer and the availability of Geometry Wars for Vista among many other developments. All of these, according to casual games product unit manager for Microsoft U.S. Chris Early, is the key to narrow the gap between MS' PCs and console gaming platforms.Indeed, the MS team is taking their "connected experiences" CES theme to heart. Early also mentioned that what really excites him (and most of the gamers) is the future scenario of having "one single Gamertag, to have one set of brands, to have both platforms That really opens up gaming a lot." He also doesn't see the Vista and Xbox 360 as separate gaming platforms.
Well, Windows users can't have it all as he divulged that Windows XP won't receive a version of Live...for now. He didn't entirely rule out the possibility, but as of now, Vista is the only one getting such features. So for those loyal (or stuck) with XP, there still might be hope for you.

Do not buy vista. It is covered with DRM. Were you mad at Sony for putting DRM on those cd's? Vista goes as far as to DOWNGRADE your existing audio and video so if it's being recorded it's not "perfect" quality. So if you watch a movie you download, or a trailer, or anything, any type of media, it will not look as good as other OS's. MS basically made Vista for media outlets, movie distributors, the RIAA, all these groups so that Vista would have their backing.
Downloading Vista is an enormous mistake. If you're a casual PC owner, do not be fooled by it's allure, it will only cause you trouble. Heck, all the drivers must be signed, there's stuff you plug into your PC now that you won't be able to if you upgrade.
Internet Explorer 7 is actually a huge mess right now as well, if anyone wants to do more research I'd suggest looking at wiki or digg.com
Linux or OSX....but not VISTA. Vista actually limits your options of what you can do.
Wii60 ftw tho!
So if I want to install vista I have to fit a 360 in my computer?
